Dual action HIDs
« on: 10 December 2010, 07:07 »
Does anyone know if the dual HID's that you get on the MK5 r32 can be retro fiited to mk4 HID system. Just asking as we have a mk5 r32 at work and at night the difference compared to my mk4 HIDs is light years
Mine on mainbeam is okay but any extra would help.

have you tried up-graded high beam bulbs on th emk4 and ensuringthe lenses are clean? Just seems an easier and cheaper way of getting almost as good is xenon.
As the the actual question, I would of thought not, mk4 main beam is not a projector...

Mk5's have bi-xenons which means the outer projector lamp is used for dip and main beam. The beam pattern is altered using a sliding shutter lense inside the unit. The inner hallogen main beam lights are for flashing, as xenons cannot react quickly enough.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
