lots of swear words and a door module.
« on: 05 December 2010, 17:45 »
i started on the passenger side door module this afternoon (both were broke) and was a fiddly bastid of a job, to start with the spline bolt on the door edge was solid and rounded off. anyhow, got it all off, stripped it apart and soldered the dry joints. put it back togther and had a tw@t of a job putting it back together.
so, got it all together and it worked ok but the door shut was a bit stiff and the door handle was a bit loose. so i adjusted it all and all seemed smooth until i locked the door, i unlocked it and now the door is locked for good, although the door isnt actually locked as i turned with the key also.. what a b!tch...
any suggestions?...

well, my solution is going to be to drill the catch plate out from the rear quarter panel and then i will be able to access it. its deffo not electrical as its doing everything it should (electricaly) the locking motor is moving both ways and the micro switches are (were) sensing that the door was opening.
i`m just going to have to order some bits next week..

sure you don't just need to adjust the cable on the handle? I think you can do this without even popping the lock out from memory, maybe its fallen down too far or something? I would play about with that first though as I did with mine, I began to sweat when the door wouldnt open but adjusted it and all was well.....

good luck with it anyway.

no, it only happens when i lock the car, it is happening on the drivers side now too..
i lock the car, then all of a sudden it becomes a b!tch to open. the passenger door seems to work better now, not 100% though.. it just happened to open today when i tryed it.
now the drivers door is stuck in the latched position, at least the door is actually open.. i just cant understand what is going wrong.. it all works fine before i fit it to the car when i lock it manually, but the central locking doenst seem to be doing it.. i will have another look at it as i seem to have the passenger one working better..

haha, no, all working solid electrically...  found out what it was, me being a dumbass didnt set the gears correctly inside the modules when re-assembling..
