What ratio of G12++ do we need for -20C which is forecast ?

just put in a couple of bottle of g12++ and then add water the stronger the better.

just over i think.. i put in 1 and a half bottles of anitfreeze and then topped with water.. ( should use distilled water)

too strong a mix of antifreeze can be very damaging, 50:50 at most. distilled water isnt need either

Because coolant additives have a low thermal capacity and a high viscosity, the water molecules are the ones taking the heat away from the engine. The glycol in the G12 will gel up and cause overheating/dead waterpumps if used undiluted.

yer i understand that but as long as there is water in there, there shouldnt be a problem.. i didnt say use undiluted just a stronger mixture will withstand lower temps.. no ??

perhaps i should have said "insufficiently diluted" rather than undiluted. The general rule of thumb is more than 50/50 and you're heading for the problems mentioned above.

hmm interesting well i done as said above and tested it with a tester yesterday an it says its perfect for up to -40 or something.. maybe i just was lucky..
