Power challenge?
« on: 04 December 2010, 21:52 »
Tried streaming through history and could not find any stats competition. Who is running what power and where do you lose the balance between daily drive and insanity?
I am told by my local place that have done all the work on my previous cars that 330bhp is easily obtainable for reasonable money. Any comments?

Why would you want 330hp with front wheel drive if the cars a daily driver for example?
I would have thought a max of about 250-260 will be plenty
Torque and driveability are more important for the road not out and out power.
Unless you are lacking in the trouser dept or drag racing on by-passes l.o.l

I assume you have an ED30...
Without traction power is nothing!

Hurdy is the man to talk to about this. His ED30 was a daily and a track beast. Was running 350ish bhp and had a nitrous install too.
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3

Cheers for the input. Not sure which direction to take this in. The car has a smoother power delivery than previous cars and is the first front drive car I have had for 9 years. I do miss the kick I am used too, but it does have some go to it.

Bare in mind Hurdy spent about the same amount as Liberia's deficit on his car, wasnt cheap. Amazing motor though.

Im happy with my 240 and my FWD. If I had 4WD I would want more.

With the nitrous kicking in, he was getting 400+bhp and close to 500lbft torque!
