This is a very clever way to get a complete thread for the R on a GTi forum.

Yeah we planned it on the other forum!   
Our plans were somewhat foiled by your random screenwash jibber jabber, but i called in the troops. The battle cry of the R was heard (slightly muted now since we lost the V6!), and with the screeching of all four wheels spinning, they came to the rescue!
Think i'll beat a hasty retreat now

So just how many of you R owners have bothered with winter tyres??? 

Got some wheels but didn't get around to buying any tyres before the snow came. Now they seem to be either unavailable or extrememly expensive. So I used the wife's car instead

Not that I've tried this, but I think the ESP now cuts in an ruins that sort of fun, even in race mode!! According to some of the press anyway

They have to be snow or winter tyres!!! I had nowhere near that much traction recently!!!!!!!!
