different main beam bulbs

Had a bulb go last night had to put the Golf in to a snow drift to keep it off the road till i picked it up later as the fools were trying to shoot up the road and just mashing it up the bulb must have cooled down to fast when i put it in the drift and gone, replaced it today with a spair old bulb but its more yellower then my other bulb as i have white bulbs well the police pull me for this? or you think i well be ok till i get new bulbs ?

Which are the best stranded fitting bulbs i can get ? Main beam white/ligther

No problems with the law on mixing bulbs, only thing it might effect is your visibility. But I wouldn't worry.

Philips blue vision usually get a thumbs up for whiter/brighter bulbs.

Were best place to get them, just a auto store? or can you get them cheaper on line?

I've always bought them from the wholesaler, but http://www.powerbulbs.com/ and Ebay have been mentioned by other folks.

Bear in mind that anything over 80W (IIRC) isn't 'e' marked, ie. not legal. And the Ring bulbs do have a tendency to melt wiring looms, but I live in the sticks, so its an acceptable trade off for me.

higher wattage rating and you're into HID territory and at risk of being shot at dawn 

but if you do chose to get higher wattage bulbs you can always add relays so your wiring stays safe
