removing door pins
« on: 04 December 2010, 14:13 »
I have done a search, but couldn't come up with anything relating to a mk4. I may be stupid, but I want to remove my door pins and replace them with some brushed ally ones (I've only got 3 anyway, drivers door one is missing for some reason  )

Now with my old mk2 & mk3, I just simply unscrewed the old plastic factory ones and screwed in the new metal ones, is it me, or is there a 'special' way of getting the old mk4 pins off, as I'm buggered if I can unscrew them  :embarassed:

Thanks

Dense from Devon

This may sound a stupid question but have you got a haynes manual as I'm almost sure there is a topic on door pins?  Car in garage for a new rear axle but I could get the book from it and photocopy the relevant bits and forward them on to you?  Tha any help pal?
