HI ALL I AM NEW TO THIS WEBSITE I RECENTLY GOT A MK 4 GOLF
DUE TO BAD WEATHER UP HERE I HAVE LOST CONTROL OF MY CAR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN ROAD AND CAR WOULD NOT STOP IN TIME FOR JUCTION SO ME BEING SILLY I PUT HAND BRAKE ON AND CAR STARTED TO SLIDE WHILE SLIDING CAR TURNED AND PASSENGER REAR WHEEL SLAMED OFF CURD AND NOW MY BACK WHEEL IS SITTING BENT LIKE YOU HAVE GRABED IT AT 3 O'CLOCK AND 9 O'CLOCK AND TWISTED IT,, ITS NOT THE ALLOY THATS BENT IT SUMTHING BEHIND ALLOY ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS HAT I MAY HAVE BENT OF BROKE IT IS A VW GOLF MK4 1.8 GTI 98 MODEL

first things first TAKE IT OFF CAPS LOCK AND BOLD WRITING !

You ave probably f**ked the wheel and the rear beam its likely to be a costly repair.. you need to remove rear wheel and look to see whats bent as it will all need replacing..

what is the rear beam sorry i am not very good with cars i know the alloy is not f**ked as it only has small mark on it where it hit curb i never bit it at alot of speed but it did give a bang

could be a few things.

my mate did a simelar thing and he bent and snaped parts of the wheel hubs on his car. cost him around £100 i think to replace it maybe more not sure.

also could have bent the axel which im guessing is what tech means when he says the rear beam?

though could be a few things.

yer rear axle.. could be very costly only way to tell is take wheel off and see..

thanks for the replys ...... i will take wheel off and have a look see what damage i have done tomorrow morning as to dark now

Not good mate and sorry to hear about you little bump.
Have been looking around to try and show you what parts and photos that you will see when you take the wheel off.
i hope this helps as this is what the rear axle should look like.
