vag - com socket -- do I have one ?

will my mk3 GTI  1993   have a socket for this ?

if so where is it  / when I plug in what will it tell me ?

the socket is to the left of the cig lighter i think,its on the very left anyway and cover just unclips. ive just got a vag-com and cant get it to work,all a bit complicated for me lol

on a 93 its behind one of the dash blanks, its the older 2x2 type plug and you'll need to buy an adaptor to use it on most of the vag-com cables tyou can get. you can buy them with the 2x2 adaptor included if you shop around

you can read fault codes, and check the ecu measuring blocks to see what ecu temp sensor, inlet temp sensor, thhrottle position etc amongst other things.
