Auto rear Wiper

I'm getting really annoyed by the auto rear wiper "feature", especially in the current weather with all the salt and cr@p getting thrown up the back of the car! i don't like the fact that it wipes when you put the car in reverse and smears the back window, it's a pain as most of the time the washers frozen. Does anyone know if the auto "feature" can be deactivated with vagcom?

Mine doesn't do that. It only swipes the rear if the front swipes and then I put it into reverse.
If you have your wipers off in the front it shouldn't swipe the rear.

Not sure why mine does it tbh, say your driving along and the wipers are set to auto and then you stop to reverse into a parking space, i always turn off the wipers before selecting reverse but it makes no difference, it's like it takes a little while to catch up. If i've just cleared the windscreen of snow or ice and then use the single wipe before reversing off the drive the rear wiper goes! WTF??
I'm hopefully getting the new bluetooth kit fitted by Darren in January so i might ask him to have a poke around while he's doing the coding.

That would drive me crazy. You would imagine there would be something to turn it off.

Mine does that, but I'm sure that you can deactivate this (try the MDF)

If you know someone with VCDS they can deactivate this for you, I did as I was fed up with it as well

I've never noticed mine doing that, and I keep the wipers on automatic pretty much all the time.

My rear wipper seems to have a mind of its own like this if i have the lights in auto but i don't understand why.
