Considering getting another mkiv
« on: 29 November 2010, 10:59 »
So this morning i get in the shed, i mean the mkii and joy of joys the rear bake caliper has seized and well was a bit of a ball ache to move the car but it did.

What i have come to realise over the last few days is the MKII is a great car, love the looks ,its fun to drive . . . . . When its summer!

Ive just been looking around and im sure I can pick one up for a reasonable price under 2k

The only thing is insurance really as im already getting bent over a barrel for the mkii due to 0 NCD

so was thinking about either a diesel or a 1.6 or something like that just as a second car and so i wont have too many further issues with the mkii and keeps the miles off

just need to figure out if it is really worht it and if i can really afford it

As above get a diesel the 1.4 and 1.6 are crap engines as the mk4 heavy.. Or you could also look at the 1.8 20v non turbo as it's a good engine and cheaper insurance.
Mk4 Golf GTI anniversary and mk6 golf tdi :)

why not a 1.8t?

might as well, you know you'll kick yourself if you get a 1.6 or a lower spec derv.

yeah would be great to get another 1.8t but as mentioned need something that is cheap to run / insure and works in the winter haha

otherwise i would just sell teh mkii and get another 1.8t but i would prob look at a A3 instead
