Gave up with the iPod. Tried all formats, bit rates and different iPods.
Still had the 'stutter'.

Now have a Sony Walkman which works perfectly. I also tried a plain old USB stick but this was 'not recognised' on occasions.

I just use a 16gb memory stick and seems works perfectly, i do get the "No media device" sometimes on startup but only lasts a few seconds.
