polishing/cleaning BBS RM outer rims

in my quest to restore by splits

ive managed to get them split down and the centres away getting painted

but the outer are manky. when i removed the bolts they showed the original shine of the outer rim! i want this shine back

how do i get it back - they aint laquered or anything just bog standard outers! that have just seen better days

wet/dry???

lots of polish and elbow grease!!! i use autochrome on mine and a polishing bonnet on a drill. or if you took them to a local metal polisher (yellow pages) he'll probably do the lot for a few quid each. better result and less effort!!!

autosol is a good one for polishing but as said above, a pro job will look really good and should only cost around a tenner each.

^^^ yeah a tenner! was that sarcasm or delight? it'll probably cost that a rim but its still cheap. wheel re-furb places know what they're doing but they also charge alot! when i re-furbed mine i asked a few companies how much to powder coat the centres and caps and got qoutes of about ?60 a wheel. found a local powder coater who did them for a tenner a wheel and did them by next day. it pays to look around!
