rear wiper wont turn off

i used the rear wiper for the first time the other day  and then went to turn if off and could not for the life of me turn if off the only way of turning it off was to stop the enging take the key out the ignition and then restart the car

what am i doing wrong what do i have to do the thing is i know it is going to be a silly thing i cant work out

lol i dunno what your doing but usually its push the stalk back to turn on and push it back once to turn off if that dosnt work throw a grenade in the boot

see i push it to go on and it never comes on solid it is intermitant wipe  and then go to turn it off and it just stays intermitant

ah back wipers dont stay on continuous mate inless you have the screen wash on aswell with the stalk pushed back with your hand once youve released it it will go back to intermitant but then should simply turn off again once you dab the stalk back once again try it again tomo push back once to turn on may have to wait a sec should work though and once its done it a few times tap it back once again and wait for it to stop if it dosnt work like that you might have a wiring problem somewhere maybe some moisture inside your tailgate cover gettin on the wires

yer will give it ago tomorow it is way to cold to be trying wipers

it just seems weird that i push it once for a wipe it wipes nicely and goes on again when i go in to reverse but then tap it again to turn off and it just wipes again for me

Must be pressed away from you to activate, hold if you want a good wash/wipe, then it goes into intermitant mode.
To stop you must press again.
