Sticky residue

Not a Golf, but I reckon someone here might well be able to help....

My woodgrain around the shifter and switches has seen better days, it's warped and cracked, so I removed it, with the help of a hair dryer to re activate the glue.

I'm quite impressed at how easy it was, but there's a little sticky reside left behind. Before I attempt to remove this, I'm wondering if anyone out there can suggest a nice safe way to remove this without dulling the bezel. Thanks.

you could always try tar remover from places like halfords /motorworld works on most sticky stuff
