Wheel offset question

Can anybody remember what the correct offset is for mk2 wheels???
I've just received my two new rims and they have an offset of et30.
I'm sure my two existing rims have the correct offset for the mk2 and I'm sure from memory this is higher than 30?
If I do run wheels with slightly different offsets on the front and rear am I likely to experience any peculiarities in handling???

get the offset of the existing 2 you have then get a spacer to make up the difference

i.e. if your existing wheels are et35 then get a 5mm spacer for them that will push them out to et30

Yeah Gambit I did think about using some spacers with my existing wheels, they are et35 so a 5mm spacer would match things up. However it seems like a bit of a headache having to make sure the correct two wheels are always fitted with the spacers. Also would I encounter any problems with rubbing if I were to lower the car 40mm running 15's with an offset of 30???

Cheers Pegasus I checked my two existing rims last night and they are et35 so I think I've got a case to have my new wheels exchanged as they definately aren't the standard offset.

et30 should be fine lowered. its not really that much of a headache!

im running et25 on a 7" rim and they just about rub. they've rubbed the tyre brand of the side wall but not cut into the tyre - im down 55mm front 40mm rear

Update: I spoke to John at D.T. Motorsport this morning and he said if I return the rims to him he would have 5mm machined of the rear to bring the offset to 35 which I was happy to go with. However I looked at the rims and if 5mm was removed that would only leave 4.5mm of material behind the wheel bolts which I thought wasn't enough. He said that if I just put the wheels on the rear as a pair I shouldn't experience any problems so I suppose that is what I will do. Is there a reason for running them on the rear rather than the front???
He didn't recommend fitting spacers in any circumstances as he said 5mm spacers would be a bit flimsy.
So it looks like I'll be running front and rear wheels with a 5mm difference in offset does anybody think this could cause strange handling or am I just worrying unecessarily???
