MK2 box problem
« on: 27 November 2010, 17:10 »
Been a while since I've been on as I stupidly sold my mint Oak green mk2.

Finally getting another one tomorrow

Only a cheapy car but looks clean enough

Its strangely only got 4 gears though so I think its dropped its 5th gear !! Common problem ?

What are replacement boxes like to get hold of nowadays ?

I did think that mate but wondered if the 4 speed box would bolt up to the 16v engine

and if it's not broken the fifth gear part of the box is shot which is a reasonably common fail.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

If the 5th gear part was shot is it fixable or better to go down the new box route

I take it you know Jason Moyle? He said there's a guy on the Saltash Ind Est that was buying a black mk2 with a shot box. I take it, that's you?!
