Amazing!
« on: 27 November 2010, 08:41 »
Well i think it is and from something so small!

some of my blowers dont work, the rear screen is always fogging up no end and i can never see out of it and the condensation well the last day os so when its been really cold have made it near impossible to see anything as the car takes a while to warm up the air.

Been looking around the house for some Silica gel but none of the shoe boxes had any in, my mate gave me a small 2 x 3cm one he found. at first I just laughed and was like going to need more but thought id give it a try

All the moisture / condensation was gone I didnt even need to turn the heaters on this morning! I could see out of every window and was just amazed so that has made my morning!

Top tip! Don't suffer too much from condensation inside the car but when it does mist up the blowers aren't powerful enough to shift it very quickly. Definately going to give this a go

I know Chuff used to run a couple of big bags of this under the front seats IIRC.

Does seem like a good idea.  I know he used to bake it every so often which got the moisture back out.

Tempting to put in my container-workshop to keep everything rust-free...

Mine came with a few big bags, about the size of two blocks of butter.  Doesn't seem to have the desired effect now, so I'll bake them, and see if they improve.

Also - TOP TIP - clean the inside of the screen with a cut potato to prevent misting.

Forgot to add.

A cheaper and more easily done solution is to put a tray of cat litter in the car overnight.

well i just put the little packet oh top of the dash, my problem has always been the rear screen but that was clear!

Glad someone has said about baking them as i wasnt sure how long it would work for but try it it works wonders

I keep a bag in that wee partitioned part of the under dash shelf on passenger side. Kept the bags out of my tv when it was delivered.
