what lamda sensor

i need to replace the rear lamda sensor on my dads mk4 2.0 8v golf,
can anyone tell me what type of lamda is fitted to them?

zircona or titania

yep, its a universal one.  just need to reuse the plug on the old sensor.

far better than paying £80 odd from vw.

you can buy them from local motor factors or ebay,

ive used the ebay ones before on my old Rs and they work a treat just without the dealer tax on them.

really easy to fit

here's the one ive just bought. ive not used this company before but the sensors themselfs are very basic so im sure it will do the job nicely

is that the 1 for sensor near manifold at front, and is urs agu if so i will purchase 1 then a knw it defo fits...thanks

easy way to find out, remove the plastic cover under the car and there will be 2plugs in there,
black plug for the lamda at the front and red/orange colour plug for the one that fits in the cat.
have a look at the colour of the wires that come out the lamda plug.

if there is 2 white 1 black and i grey then it will work fine
you may even be able to make out the colour of the wires by looking down the rear of the engine where the lamda sits in the manifold

im pretty certain that both lamda's are exactly the same and 90% of the cars in england use zircona lamda's

They are £80 for that reason alone they are plug and play. And they will last a lot longer that ur sh!tty £15 one lol
