Drove home the other night and when trying to start the car again it wouldnt turn over. Managed to jump start the car but then realised the lights were very dim, the lights on the dash werent on and the cd player light was flickering. After a few mins the car was still running but wasnt able to get any revs on the car at all.
Took it to the car to the garage where they tested it. Said it was the alternator that was faulty. Had a brand new alternator fitted, drove it home and left it running for an hour but when turning the lights on to test drive the car again, had the same problem we started with.
I put a brand new battery on, took it for a test drive for 5-10 mins but when I got home the battery light on dash board was on and it said alternator workshop which I have never seen before.
Anyone know what the problem is or has been in the situation.
Many thanks, Wayne

Cheers mate, thats look like what the problem is! Cant believe the garage didnt pick up on it. Guna take it back and get them to sort it out, FOR FREE!!!, as they diagnosed it wrong!
Thanks again, I will be looking on here in future before taking to a garage cos it seems like I get the right answers on this forum without being ripped off!
