I got 390 from the last tank, mix of motorway, A roads and running round town. Only done 2600 miles, so hope to improve on that.

Fuel economy is as good as my (albeit remapped) Mk5 140 GT TDI

Since my 3 point, I am getting 360+ mile per tank. I only use Optimax or Momentum99.
200 miles to go before my GTI reach 10000miles-the car hardly use any engine oil; pretty good for a turbocharged direct injection engine!

Thanks for all the replys...seems I'm a little trigger happy on the pedal and maybe reflects on the low side of replys coming back. I just can't drive moderately though......even when the wife throws me those strange stares  May try a couple of weeks of Driving miss daisy then see where that gets me...probably no fun!

To be honest if we all wanted to drive like miss Daisy then we would have got 1.4 Golfs. We all bought GTI and D variants because we wanted the fun.

My miles per tank in my mapped GTI is usually around 300 with my highest being 525 miles on a long motorway trip.

I've driven cars which are supposed to give fabulous fuel economy only to be sorely disappointed when using them in the hell of London stop-start traffic. Unless one drives, as a soon-to-be-corpse, a morbid shopping trolly.
As long as I get an average of 20 mpg, I am perfectly content.
