distributor or ignition coil?
« on: 20 November 2010, 22:26 »
lately cars been refusing to start sometimes, had to call rac as it just wouldnt start and drained battery tryin it.

he said its the distributor coil, but i cant find one? closest thing i can find is ignition coil which is nowhere nearthe distributor, but to get the car to start i have to wiggle the hall sender connector (which he said is the dist coil) so ive gone and bought the ignition coil but sincelookin at numerous diagrams and my haynes,  its lookin like ive got the wrong part, not really got the dosh to go garage so tryin to learn to do it my self (quite a beginner!)

any help or advice you could offer, id be really grateful for, thank u x

If you need to wiggle hall sender to start it the you need a new distributor. Check the wiring first though, could be just a dodgy plug.
