brake discs and pads what type?
« on: 08 February 2005, 13:27 »
Hi I have a mk 2 16v d reg 1987, what size pads and discs will i need??   Couldnt work out if they were the 239 or 256 discs.
Also my mate says there wont be any noticeable difference between the pads or discs that i choose.  Is it worth paying extra for the other ones?
cheers
marco

I have an '87 E plater 3 door git 16v an the brakes are 239mm :embarassed:, I think the later '90 spec has the bigger discs,

I don't look at porn much,
usually 2 or 3 minutes is enough

Looking at the pics in ur sig i would say they are 239mm. However, just whip ur wheel off & drop a tape measure (or vernier caliper if u wanna be proper accurate) across them to be certain

yeah i think they're 239 because of its age, cant remember when it changed to bigger ones. on a budget the best set up seems to be zimmerman disks and pagid pads from german and swedish.
