my car is fine, but if i drive it hard or even just accelerate up to 100 in 5th, when i come to a stop i get a realy lump tick over, switch car off for 5mins, and its fine again.
no fault codes are realy showing. (apart from pressure drop etc)

mk4 golf 1.8t AUM engine.
to be honest iv never bought oil for it, bought it back in march and it had just had a full service. i think its 5/30 that i have a spare bottle off.
could poor oil or the wrong oil cause a lumpy tick over?

dont forget the engine will increase with heat when you give it some = oil goes thinner and then you hear everything. same happened with me when i used to use valvoline oil switched to mobil 1 and i cant complain.

p.s cheap oil can cause that, see some people wont ask or forget to ask what brand oil was used, when they buy or view a car. as far as you know carlube oil could have been used (its SH1T!)
