Stiff gear box Mk3 Gti 8v

Hi!

My golf has quite a stiff gear box , I am no mechanic so don't get too technical lol

It happens in every gear , would it be new oil required ? Or something worse ?

I am going to pop to a local garage tomorrow in rugeley or stafford and see what's what

Any ideas would be ace

It's quite common on higher mileage Golfs to have this issue. Id change the gear oil and get hold of a linkage repair kit for about £20 from ebay, you'll need the alignment tool for another few quid from there as well. once you've done these  bits you should have a completly different and better shifting action.

does the tool work for the mk3 as well? i was never 100% sure.

oh and check out the linkage guide in the mk2 + maintenance section, its 95% same on mk3, just a couple rods slightly different shape
