some advice needed please gurus

hi all new to the forum , ive read loads about the mk3 golfs cutting out , ecu and fuel pump relays, however, my golf (mk3 1. runs fine but only if the fuel tank is more than half full, replaced the in tank pump the other day , didnt make any difference, wanted to aks before spending money , im a landrover mechanic , but always had a soft spot for the golfs , had afew mk1s and 2s, never given me any probs as i service them regulaly and keep on top of any maintainence, but this problem has baffled me,, its definatley a fuel delivery issue , like i siad ,only when th fuel tank is less than half full, and seems to be only when going round a right hand corner, i gave it a full service as sson as i got it aswell as cambelt,, been fine for months and now developed this issue ..

hopefully someone has had this before and knows the fault

sure fuel gauge is reading right?

yeah seems to be,, its bin the same all the time ive had it, i.e put a score in an its just under halfway, ect uses the same amount on the same journeys ect,,
