Cheers mate  been reserching today looking for the old mk3. Phoned insurence to see what they did with the car. They sold it to a salvage yard so I rang them to find out they sold it to some auction in west of Bristol. so its true that it is back on the road and been repaired. Now I need to find away of finding out who has the car so I can get intouch with them to buy it back. I know its alot of hassel but I would love to get my one back as it was a rear colour and very low miles for a mk3 bearly done 60,000 with full vw service history and receipts manual etc which I still have lol

contact the dvla they hold the current owners details I think there is a fee but I am sure the best way to trace it will be through them. I bet the current owner is not aware its on the hpi registar also try a hpi check as will show how many owners it has had since you were the last keeper. Your right it is a rare colour R plates only used to have one myself you can see it in the old sig I really should update.
