Whats the Spec of my car?
« on: 15 November 2010, 17:32 »
I have recently bought a VW Golf GTI Ed 30 2007 Manual 5 door in silver.....Chassis No. WVWZZZ1KZ7W276454

Can anyone advise me on here or give me a clue where to get the spec of the car ..... Other websites i use are able to give specific information......Audi and Mercedes.......... Is this possible on here......If so can someone help

The previous index was S4GJK........Has anyone ever seen it. The number is now on a White Golf R.

Thanks

You could take that Chassis No into a dealership and they'd be able to look it up.
Or, you could look in the service history book or the boot of the car for the sticker which gives a load of 3 letter codes.
Like this:

All the codes tell you what options were installed in your car.

Then type all the codes into this website: http://www.igorweb.org/equidec/ and it'll tell you what you've got.
Something like this:
Quote
E0A = no special edition
1D0 = without towing attachment
5SL = outer left rear view mirror: non-spherical
5RQ = outer right rear view mirror: convex
1KF = disc brakes, rear
6FB = body-colored outer rear view mirror housings
1AT = electronic stabilization program (ESP)
3FA = without roof insert (standard roof)
1N3 = speed-related variable steering assist (Servotronic)
1NL = covers for alloy wheels
H6L = tires 225/45 R 17 91with Y tire width restricted to 219mm
4UF = drivers and front passenger airbag with front passenger airbag deactivation
4R4 = power windows with comfort operation andcircuit breaker
B59 = type approval Republic of Slovakia
3QT = 3-point seat belts with tensioner and height adjustment, front
4X3 = side airbag front with curtain airbag
4A3 = seat heater for front seats separately controlled

What risk am i under with my chassis number on a publc forum ?

Every car made since ?? 2002 ?? or whenever it was has visible vin in the front windscreen so anyone walking past my car can look at it.
