I was charged a total of £1000 for a new front grille, to have a dent removed from the bonnet and the front bumper, followed by a full bonnet and front bumper re-spray with blending-in to the front wings.
I used ARC Bodyshop in Park Royal (very nice people and totally helpful) who are VW approved. There is a long, long thread about all this.
All perfect now.

£500 for a dent! I hope I'm not looking at those figures to fix a few scratches on the paint work! I think any more than £150 I would be tempted to get out the white tipex! Thanks for the heads up about Exan.

Get a quote anyway, it can't hurt to shop around. I'd personally avoid the roadside repair brigade. Recipe for disaster IMHO.

Takuma: I can more or less tell you to the nearest £25 pounds it will cost you a max of £275 from ARC, Park Royal. Speak to John Ford. Tel 0208 961 8961.
Flat Black is the easiest colour to paint. Generally requires no blending-in.

To the untrained eye, the smart repair type people to a good enough job, but to be honest all they will do is give it a quick rub down and blow some (quite possibly miss matched) paint at it.

My Mrs recently caught the rear bumper of her car on something, drove away and put a 8" split in it. I have taken it to a mates body shop (who is spot on) and he has quoted me £120 to plastic weld, repair and paint the bumper.

£80 to me sounds like alot of money for a quick job on the side of the road. I would rather pay a bit more and have the job done right.

£80 is as cheap as chips.
Will they blend-in the paint with the rear quarter panel? If they don't, there might be a paint mismatch.

£80 for about 15 minutes work and a few pence worth of paint cheap?

Is that down to bare metal as its hard to make out in the picture?!?

If its just scuffs and scratches then it may very well polish out with a machine polisher.

P3,
Luckily the scuffs and scratches seem to be only on the plastic bumper.
