Any good beetle forums?
« on: 14 November 2010, 17:56 »
As per title, does anyone know of any good classic beetle forums, or any VW forums with good beetle sections? My old man is possibly looking to get one but wants to read up a bit first.

Any help appreciated

Volkszone. Everything you'll need to know.

Anything you want to know in particular? I'm reasonably clued up on them and own one. Let me know if I can help.

Cheers, i'll pass it on :afro:

He's after loads of info, but he needs to know about insurance initially.

He's got a Morris Minor at the moment and is part of the owners club who have a very good deal with Footman James insurance which allows both my parents, my brother (who is 20) and myself (23) on the insurance policy fully comp with an agreed valuation for less than £300 a year. He can't seem to find any similar deals for a Beetle, and is wondering who other beetle owners are insured with.

My brother would need to be insured on the car, which is the problem as most companies either won't touch him or are asking stupid amounts of money. So without insurance it's a non starter, obviously i'd much rather be driving a beetle as a 2nd car than a morris minor, hense me helping him out!

If he manages to get insurance sorted i'm sure there will be a whole host of questions that he wants answers to

Can't really comment on insurance other than I was with Adrian flux for my first few years of driving (they do a Beetle scheme) and then switched to Footman James. FJ were a million times better though in the customer services department and didn't care about modifications etc.

They are great cars, I love em!
