why didnt i buy a ford, like my dad told me????

when should the fuel light come on?
the wife was running the car on the red line for two days untill i noticed there was no fuel, it was sitting right on the bottom red line, but no light came on?
any ideas?

tbh... i've always been a lil paranoid of running out of fuel.. as soon as I hit anywhere near the red i fill up

Would have thought it would not be wise to let your dub redline for one all the crap/silt from the bottom of the fuel tank starts to get sucked into your engine so it's not a good move.

The Count's right and it doesn't do your cat any good either if you run out of fuel. I never let the Moo get below a quarter full. Never mind the debate about the light, get Mrs Brains down to that petrol station sharpish.

Ive never seeen a light for fuel come on , on most cars they come on as soon as you hit the red , if not a bit before .

Golfs don't have fuel lights. VW obviously thought that the full to empty scale behind the needle and the bright red bit at the bottom was enough for people to realise it's getting empty.
