« on: 07 February 2005, 10:42 »
Hi,

Ive just got hold of a copy of ETKA on CD but it wont run on my laptop. It says that i need a screen res of 1280 x 1024, but my laptop wont go that high and i don't have use of another PC or screen. Anyone got any ideas?

a screen wont solve the problem matey, the res problem will be the video card in your laptop, can only suggest using another pc / laptop i am afraid, where abouts are ya based ?

If you've got a normal computer screen you should be able to plug it into the laptop and use that instead, and provided the computer monitor is good enough and big enough, it should cope with 1280x1024. (A 17inch monitor should be enough, but even some 15inch CRTs can do that resolution)
Most laptops will do that resolution if using an external monitor.

Get a monitor,
plug it into the laptop
boot up the laptop from scratch
it should now be using the external monitor instead of the laptop's screen.
Go into display settings and adjust the resolution to 1280x1024
Install Ekta

If you reboot the laptop without the external monitor connected, it should revert to using the laptop's screen.

I've got ETKA running in my laptop and resolution is 1024x768. It runs ok but I dont get all of the view on the screen which is the only problem.

Main thing it causes is not seeing the exit programme button on screen so I CTRL+ALT+DEL and use task manager to close it.

If you can't see the X (window close) button, you can just double click on the Icon in the opposite top corner (left hand side).
