Tale of woe!
« on: 10 November 2010, 20:07 »
First off the PAS rack, track rod ends and ball pins or something needed doing £280.

Then the tyres needed changing which was £260 for 4 yoko s-drives.

Then tried to tax the car and found out the MOT was due back in July, whooopsie. So booked her in. She needed 2 front shocks, headlight switch, number plate light and number plates (as the spacing on mine is illegal). I decided instead of getting 2 new front shocks I'd get a full set of FK coilovers for £190 reduced from £300.

£491 later I had a new MOT. they said it was 1.5hrs a side for the fronts & 1hr a side on the rears. This included tracking a camber but seemed a little high. Also didn't realise they charge £55+vat.

So all in all I've spent £1,335 Inc 6 months tax over the last 3-4weeks. On top of this I've been told my sills are written so could do with being replaced/welded up.

But you know what I still love my mk3. Dont wish i had a new car just wish I had more money lol

This is the problem I always end up in.

It started as £280. Then about a week later it was £260. I'd already spent £280 so may aswell get it sorted. So £540. Then tax so £115, that then flagged the MOT. Didn't need the coilovers but £70 for 2 shocks or £190 for a full set of coilies. Thought may aswell. Then didn't think it wouldn't 5hrs to fit them.

Cause it was gradual it disguised the total amount a bit.

That's a lot of money, I can understand how it's all added up though. It can be very tricky to decided to cut your losses and give up, at least you know that those components should last you a while

Oh and if you'd done your MOT in June then the cost would have been spread out a lot more

Haha yeah tell me about it.

All I need now is the engine to go and I'd probably just shoot myself.

Although I've not spent that much i'm feeling pretty bummed about my car too. Oh and my very expensive printer has broken too. So
now I spend my days googling and trying to fix all my things! arggghh
