New battery advice needed!
« on: 06 February 2005, 17:44 »
Think the cold wether and me being away (in sunny new zealand : ) ) all winter combined with infrequent driving has knackered my battery. I've just had a look on eurocarparts and theres loads of different options to choose from, different ampere hours and all that. Can anyone suggest a good battery? is it wrth paying the money for a bosch item say over a cheaper brand? I'm guessing you get what you pay for and that its worth getting a good un. but there seems to be 36, 45, 56 etc AH rated batteries. The higher the better i guess as it will last longer without charging but I don't know if such a large battery is necessary, my stereo is just an uprated unit so its not as though i got loadsa subs draining power.

Any advice would be cool!

Bigger the better really, but what you are looking for is a high 'Cold Cranking Amps' rating, which is what you need on a cold winters morning to get the car going :)

Halfords batterys are actually good quality, actualyy a decent make but rebranded.  Can't remember which though.
