another winter tyres question
« on: 08 November 2010, 20:17 »
The Michelin A4 Alpin do a H, V and Z rating for the 225/45 17
Does it matter if I want to save a few pennies and go for the H rated winter tyres!
Obviously I don't think I will do more than 70mph in this weather!
Thanks for replying!

Winter tyres approved for a maximum speed lower than that of the vehicle may only be fitted if;

1. The maximum speed of these tyres is displayed in full view of the driver, e.g. on a clearly visible sticker on the dashboard, and;

2. The maximum tyre speed must not be exceeded.

Exception: Rule 1 does not apply to the UK.

Obviously, if one were to drive to the Continent on such tyres, it would be wise to be prepared and obtain a sticker beforehand.

Thanks guys!
I think I will go for the cheaper option as long as it is safe and legal to do so!!
