Service @ VW main stealers
« on: 08 November 2010, 18:08 »
07 plate on 45k going in for service later this week, the following is being carried out:

major service: 229
Cambelt:         299
DSG oil service 150
Engine flush      35

Also, the car was showing 2k till service, then 1800 till service, then suddenly just showed 'service due now' .. should i be worried?

Just wanted to know if there is anything 'extra' i should ask for etc? or if i am missing something?
the car has had 2 minor services in the past and was on the long life service, i want to bring it to the yearly one as i drive the car in built up London!

tell me about it, i tried a few local (ish) indy garages, they quoted me in excess of 400 just for the cambelt, thought this way at least i get the stamp and then if decide to sell it, its all there on paper...  you reckon the dsg needs a service at 40k? or this just a way to make some extra cash for the stealers?

Mine is a manual gear box mate but i think it's correct for the dsg service. Cambelt is about right money as well.
Sorry to say but i would have the water pump changed as well, i did.
