VAG COM & VISTA - PLEASE HELP!!!

I purchased this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230541428374&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

The instructions that came with it are for XP ... but I have Vista.

I can't get the cable to work ... The vagcom software simply doesn't recognise the USB interface although the laptop itself recognises the OBD II to USB cable and automatically installs drivers of some sort ... ive tried the "compatibility as XP Service Pack 2 & run as admin" procedure.

Can some one shed some light? really need this working to get some ABS fault codes read.

i just bought exactly the same crap i even tried the phone number on the bit of paper that came with it, sounds like a kebab shop or something tried every port and still nothing tried it on my windows 7 and my mates xp still no joy if you eventually susss it please let me know cheers col :sad:

You tried it on your friends XP? suprised it didn't work on that ...

Does the LED on your cable light up when you plug it in to your laptop? mine doesn't, but then Windows does detect a new hardware has been plugged in, so I suppose thats irrelevant.

The sellers got flawless feedback so im presuming we just have no clue on how to get it to work.

HENCE IM REQUESTING HELP!!!! ...

no but it does when you plug it into the car my mate is a pc engineer and he is here now on it looking through previous topice we need version 409.1u to get it to work my heads done in big time  :laugh:

Oh right is that basically the USB version of the software then? I havent tried plugging it in to the car yet ... ill do that tonight.
