This is probably a thick question but being a noob i hope its excusable, my tyres say 175/70R/13, but when i measured the wheels diametre measured 14" can someone clarify this because i need this info to be able to change these wheels to some nice alloys.

im guessing you measured from the outer lip edge? which im also guessing is where you probably dont measure the wheel from, and instead it would be from inside the lip to were contact is with the tyre?

if that makes sense?!  :undecided:

  • Looking for an "Icebreaker"
As above, measure again the diameter from the rounded part of the rim, next to the valve, all will become clear

As above, they'll probably be 13" rims, i'm pretty sure when I had my 1.4 that it had 13" wheels as standard. As said in your other thread about wheels you need to keep the same rolling radius when changing wheels, this means that the tyre profile needs to be reduced as the rim size increases.

Bear this in mind when your upgrading. Also if your planning on leaving it at standard ride height i'd be tempted to go for 16" rims, if your planning on lowering it i'd look at 15's or 16's

Thanks for the help and advice with the wheels, i think i am going to get those 15" rims off ebay they are et42 and my car is et38, so can i get some 4mm spacers to even things up, and give them more "poke" as Dom says haha...

Cheers

You want 195/50/15 tyres to be even or if you want to go really low 45 profile instead.
