if its aftermarket, find the brain, follow the wires from it and chop out where they connect to your loom. join together any wires that have been cut into matching wire colours.  if its factory, should find 2 pin plugs which can be removed then you find late spec mk3 without alarm, nick the 2 pin plug joiners and fit to your loom to rejoin.  2 that come to mind are yel/blue for fuel pump relay trigger and red/black for starter.

no it shouldnt do, just make sure you dont cut any wires to the immob box. follow the wires from the reader coil on ign lock and you'll find it

Thanks that handy info, so if I'm careful and reconnect any wires that have Been cut and routed elsewhere I should be ok.

Just looking for some reassurance that if I strip it out the i can still get to work on monday, and wont need recoding for any reason.

So to recap

1. Trace wires and remove rejoing any original ones back to standard.

2. The chip in the key should still work even thought the conlog is gone.

1. yep
2. aye
3.

mk3s are common in scrappies now too, so once get car sorted can go on the hunt for unbutchered cars and nick all the stalk/ign switch looms and swap tyo yours. the fusebox in the mk3 is great all the looms are seperate so dead easy to swap different bits of it :)

These colours look to be right after ripping it out today. I just can't find the other ends now ???

do you mean you have found a pair of 2 pin plugs, with red/black and blue/yel wires? if so, you need to find a later mk3 without an alarm fitted and pinch the 2 jumper plugs which pop into these 2 pin plugs and rejoin the wires. or chop plugs off and splice the wires together
