mk4 problem

1.8t gti 51 plate havin idle over problem when i pull up (traffic lights) anything i can check myself before going to a garage.had it 3 weeks runnin well up to yesterday.any help id be greatfull thanks.

Could be a number of little things but the main thing would ushaly be the MAF. This is a senser that is ataached to the air box. The only easyer way is to try and find some one near you who might have a diagnostic tool to plug into your car. That way it might give a better understanding to where the problem might be.

Might need your throttle bodie cleaning out and re-setting mate
If your anywhere near R-Tech just pop it down and i will sort it out for you.

hi, ive recently bought mk4 gti 2lt, sounds like the manifold is blowing or downpipe took to garage  and got told it werent,but it certainly aint right, any idea what to do to cure it

secondary air pump maybe? makes a wet farting sound when you first start it?
