got my new mk2 today.. i cant lock the boot

i have non central locking and id like to know how to lock the boot. im sure this seems stupid but yes its happening i cannot figure it out.

ok so i unlocked it and opened the boot, then i took the key out whilst open, i closed the boot and now i cant lock it.

could something be stopping me locking the bloody thing

its ok it was just dark and i didnt notice i should have slammed it, i forget that its not made of glass, will post some pics tommorow, what i dont understand is why is there a seperate key for the drivers side and all the rest is another key its a right pain.

The drivers side barrel has been changed. The car probably got broken into in its former life and the tealeaf b@astard bust the lock. Are there any marks below the door handle where it has been repaied or is there an armoured door plate?

Remember the car is getting on a bit locks get damaged and worn. It's not uncommon for there to be different keys. I have three keys for mine and its just something you get used to.

what you need are a few donor lock barrels.

strip them of the pins

refit pins to suit your key

job done!

yeah i worked that out today, its kinda cool tho one key for me and everyone else has another key, it looks like the door handle has been refitted atleast. now im gona start asking some newbie questions but first i better search, thanks for all your help
