Limited Slip Differential
« on: 04 November 2010, 23:28 »
Thinking about getting an LSD on my Mk5 GTI DSG, wanted to know peoples opinions? and prices? Have seen Quaife and VW Racing Versions? Are these good? Which is better? Are there any others that work with DSG?

Thanks

Buy winter tyres and a set a old wheels.
Then learn to apply just the right amount of throttle.

Having said that sanctimonious clap trap I love my LSD on the BMW. :smug:

Yep,

I had a Quaife ATB LSD fitted to my old ED30 and it was awesomely good.

Cornering became a thing of pleasure and I actively sought out the Snake pass on regular intervals. It was one of the few mods I couldn't bring myself to remove when I sold on the car.

How much did your LSD cost roughly Hurdy? Fitted? And where did you get it done?

Thanks,

Oly

Ok thanks for that, do you know anyone who's got the VW Racing one/heard anything about it?

Iirc the racing one needs servicing every couple of thousand miles so for road use it's not cost effective at all.

They have two different types on their website, I would obviously get the road one, not the track ready one.

The road one is basically the Quaife. Redrobin had his done at VWRacing.
