advise please, getting revo map tomorow
« on: 04 November 2010, 20:53 »
Well had the m5 golf gti 5 weeks, and getting revo map tomorrow, have given the car a good service, oil change, new spark plugs and air filter, changed coolant flange due to slight water leak, done coolant change and changed Dv to updated model,

What bhp gains should I expect, hoping for 40bhp gain,  even though revo quote 55bhp they offer a before and after rolling road run, £25 a run, would you think this is a fair price considering the map is £499 + VAT, thanks in advance

I'm not sure myself as I haven't mapped my car but I think R-Tech are cheaper than that.  Someone will confirm who knows more on the subject.

To be honest mate I think they should be offering a free run before and after with the REVO map (499).

I got my car mapped by a guy with a laptop so there was no provision for a rolling road session but I did take it to a rolling road centre that offered the Superchips software. They offer a free before and after session for every mapping purchase.

I would haggle and get it included. You are spending 500 quid afterall.

Maps are a matter of opinion really and what you want. I find the R-Tech one which I run on my car much less aggressive than the Revo and much smoother and progressive. Some people however prefer the Revo. I also think Revo are day light robbery considering what R-Tech charge. I love how your spending £500 with them and they still charge for a before and after run (which is basically proves their work).

I would also be happy with a 40bhp gain. Don't believe all the nuts they put on their website.
