Idle speed/carburetor problems!
« on: 04 November 2010, 13:47 »
I have an 1800 driver and have issues with it. Sometimes engine will be fine and will idle fine. Other times the engine speed will drop down to below 100rpm and sometime even cuts out. Also if I push the car a bit, it decides that it really doesn't like it and starts to sputter and jerk. If I turn it off and wait for about 20 mins, it then goes back to normal.

Any advice would be great, thanks :)

if its on the original 2e2 carb, have a read of my 2e2 repair guide. lots of info on the bits which can go wrong. or just admit defeat and buy a webber conversion ;)

Is that Jenson's strategy?

Seriously, you've been posting about Weber carbs for how long and you still can't spell WEBER?
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

have a look in the 2e2 faq, if it looks like the pictures its a 2e2 ;)
2e2 is very complex bit of engineering, with vac pipes and electrical bits all over it. webber is very simple bit of kit
