Cant see why your worried about the milage to be honest. If the car still drives fine with no issues and your happy to drive it still then hold onto it.If you want a lower milage car and fancey a change then yeah buy the car you want but with alot of golfs vws milage has never really worried me to much as there good for it just my opinion

If it aint broke, why fix/replace it? I've had a few mk2s with around/over 200k on them with no real problems other than maintenance stuff i.e brakes/clutch etc.

I have three VWs with over 700000 miles between them, and they've never let me down - two of them sound like new.

The missus has a Rover 25 with 45000 miles, and it's broken down on us twice this year.

If you want a MK2 16v then sell it but I wouldn't sell it for a lower mileage MK3 16v. Only because you know your car and I bet you look after it, you never know what your getting when you buy a new car.

As above, if all is ok keep running it, you could get a lower miles car and have lots of trouble.
