16" alloys, 205/50/16 tyre scrub

Just bought a mk3 gti, its got mk4 montreals on it with 205/50/16 tyres, it scrubs the outside arch and is very close to the suspension cups, is this coz ov the profile? Was thinkin ov getin sum 15s and lowerin it 60mm wud this be a scrub free idea ;-}

You could put some 195/45/16 toyo t1r's on it for £200.

Wrong size tyres.

195/45/16 or 205/45/16 or 215/40/16 are the correct sizes.
