mk4 gti turbo tanning juice

hi everyone just got my first vw and loving it apart from only doing 60 miles to £20 and computer saying average 22mpg surely this cant  be right any ideas what i can look at it must have issues any help would be appreciated cheers ice  :laugh:

thats rubbish! get someone with vag com to do a quick diagnosis for ya, i get about 35mpg with my remapped turbo!
Silver 3 Door 1.8T.... R-Tech map, Forge d.v, pipercross Venom Cai, J valve, silicone tip.....

i got 40.2 yesterday on a trip out yesterday down to awesome gti, but around town it averages between 20-25 depending on the right foot action  :smiley:

as above, get the car scanned for fault codes using vagcom and also worth giving the car a good service if it hasnt had one recently.

Hmm maybe I will get mine done too... When i bought my car i was doing 36mpg on a motorway now i'm lucky if i go over 30! Ok my car has been remapped but it still made me wonder :sad:

or lifting the right foot off the carpet sometime's helps  :wink:,sorry couldn't resist ,i normally average around  28 mpg in the golf with very mixed driving normally nice and gentle on the way to work and a bit of fun on the way home i have had the trip computer read anything from 17 mpg to 42 depending on how it's driven or 10mpg on track days ,they can be animals if driven hard if it's under normal driving then get it checked out ta andy

The most I've got is 32mpg driving to work and that's with not putting my foot down once. Mines mapped too. I suppose mines heavier than a golf though.
