16v kjet rocco manifold are made of a spectial alloy containg very high concentarions of unobtanium and scenetaxium this means there 2nd hand value is mahoosive.   i've just cut a stock mk2 manifold and fliped the tb over to the other side,  then if you can be arsed to poish it ypou can make the rework unoticable.

ABF will fit but you skew the mounts down an bit to clear the bonnet, easy done
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

M'mmmmm, Valver 'rocco.

ABF all the way, innit.

IIRC the K-jet variety valver that was fitted to the OEM 'rocco had the throttlebody port the opposite side to all of the other 16V inlets, which is why it's much feted by those wanting to turbo-charge the 16V lump.

As it's the Golf1 floorpan it has different engine mounting to the G2 and G3, so you might need to have a root about to see whether these work OK with the tall-block ABF.

This  must be where i got the backwards idea from, my mates looks backwards in comparison to my valver

GTII is carbed 1.8 90hp

Scala is k-jet 110hp

16v roccos were all LHD i believe

There was a 1.8T rocco on ebay a couple of weeks ago, in white.

I don't think a semi will give the same results

Correct. GTII was 1.8 carb from golf2 with 90bhp.
GT was the 1.6 carb.
GTX and Scala 1.8 gti K-jet 112bhp.

which is why i was left wondering, why do people bang on about the GTII being the one to own? The scala had more power

  • Mk2 Scirocco vs MK3 Golf?

I used to have a Scirocco GTX, cost me £350 and was the coolest car I've owned to date!
Fantastic to drive, went like a bat out of hell (well it was the most powerful car I've owned so far!) a real head turner even though the bodywork wasn't in the best of conditions!

Unfortunately, all the insurance companies decided to take a dump on my head when my renewal came up... nothing cheaper than £1600 even though I had 2 years no claims and no accidents nor faults with both parents being named drivers!
Damn being 19!!

Miss that car so much! So do most of my friends!
Ah well, second mk3 now, at least parts are a bit easier to get hold of

The best way to G60 a 16V is to use the Rocco manifold for the exact reasons you just pointed out plus the TB outlet is exactly where it should be, easier to connect to the G60 :nerd:
