The Moding continues, next up THS Engine Mounts.

I just can't help myself

This time, THS FR3 upper engine mounts

They use OEM casings but made with 30% stiffer rubber, so look the same to the stealers.

Here's some pic's from the install: -

New mount on the right

And the other side: -

And the mounts in place: -

Install was nice and easy and took just over one hour.

Having driven around 50 miles on them today I am very impressed. Everything from the initial turning of the key to start the car has improved. The car feels more direct and the launches much better off the line too.

You do get increased noise when pushing on but if anything it improves the engine / exhaust tone.

At idle or in traffic there is virtually no noticeable increase in vibration or noise transfer to the cabin (above the increase from the VW Racing lower mount I fitted earlier in the year).

That car has had a complete bowel transplant.
I wonder what will transpire with cosmetic surgery.

Had them fitted to my MK4; superb bit of kit

Tightened everything up nicely and without any increase in cabin vibration
