The dealer told me in June when I traded the car in, he had asked the service manager and that's what he said.

regarding paint

could be that its had that horrible paint coloured wax/Tcut polish crap used on it at some point

also worth remembering these along with the MK 6 have terrible quality paint (chips real easy etc)

Thanks, I really hope that's the case. It's overall condition is very good (for four years), there was
even a bit of colour coming off onto the car bar I used!

remeber he is just the service manager in a dealer and not the top tech at VW!

The dealer told me in June when I traded the car in, he had asked the service manager and that's what he said.

Yeah, theres no need at all for a service manager to know when a cambelt is due to be change . . . . . Its pretty shocking really.
